Planning consent for extensions in Guildford

We have recently achieved planning consent for the construction of a two storey wrap around extension with a rear single storey extension, following the demolition of an existing side garage for a property in Guildford. Providing much needed additional living space for the family with additional bedroom and bathroom facilities.

It was important that the scale of the proposed extension respected the proportions of the original dwelling and the size of the plot. A pre application process and research into the similar approvals in the local area were undertaken. 3D model views were also produced to give both the client and the local authority a clear indication of the impact of the proposals and materials.

Care has especially been taken in the design process to ensure there would be no detrimental loss of light or privacy to neighbouring properties. The proposed extension has been set back from the front building line, to maintain a lower ridge height than the existing and to appear subservient within the local streetscene. The main roof has been extended to the side, matching the existing ridge level whilst the front, rear and side extensions have a lower ridge level to comply with local authority guidance documents.
