Construction update for the replacement of the changing facilities and a new small café at Guildford Lido.

Our proposed scheme is driven by two key goals: to provide a modern new building that respects the historic character of the old Lido, and to create a more accessible and welcoming environment. The heart of the new Lido will be two sweeping timber canopies supported on a larch glulam frame interspersed with a series of pitched tile clad cupolas. These raised sections of roof are designed to bring natural light and ventilation into the changing spaces. New cubicles containing private changing rooms, family rooms, showering and toilets are then arrayed beneath the canopy, painted in a series of different colours to clearly identify the various uses and create a bright, welcoming space.
