COURT LODGE

Lytle Associates Architects were appointed to design a 10 unit development on the site of an existing residence on the periphery of a park in Epsom. Following the demolition of the existing building, Court Lodge will be constructed to provide a selection of 1, 2 & 3 bed apartments with parking and associated amenities.

Key to the design is the reference to the parkland setting: the utilisation of flat roof construction allows for a green roof and provides private external terraced spaces with vistas over the park. The layered facade and chamfered window reveals are used to reinforce the concept of views and to admit as much natural light as possible to internal spaces. This concept of layering is followed through to the overall terraced form of the scheme, which steps down from 3 storeys on its south eastern edge to a single storey on the opposite side of the site, opening up towards the green space.

Court Lodge is due for completion in June 2018.
