Extra Services for Schools

A building project does not have to be an inconvenience, it can be a great opportunity for ‘hands on’ education.

We are committed to helping schools to use the whole building process as a learning resource and to encourage class projects on the new building. We are keen to talk to pupils and staff about the process, take part in workshops, provide drawings, set up a classroom display with samples of materials and arrange hard hat tours of the site. We believe that if everyone understands each other better, the site usually runs more smoothly and there are less complaints on both sides! Pupils move into a new building with an appreciation of how it is constructed and an insight into the roles of architects, surveyors and building contractors.

A school is a centre for education, and we believe that this should apply to all aspects of school life, including building work. Pupils can learn about the construction industry and building processes. Contractors can learn to appreciate the end users of the accommodation they help to build.

We offer:

-Workshops with students as part of design process
-Hard hat tours of building sites
-Careers talks and events
-Work experience
-Bespoke contract rules developed specially for school sites
