We designed a masterplan for the whole campus, and then assisted with the school’s successful £1.5m bid application to the Government’s academy capital maintenance funding programme. Phase one was to create a new art block; refurbish the sixth form provision and increase the number of music practice rooms; as well as enhance the D&T provision.

Due to planning constraints the building – with its steel frame and timber cladding – sits low within the site.  It includes a clay studio, workshop, new kiln, two classrooms, a digital studio and dark room. With the release of the old art studios, we were able to create a new sixth form centre, refurbished D&T workshops and science classrooms.
