PLAISTOW HOSPITAL
NHS Newham (“the Trust”) were the freehold owner of the Plaistow Hospital site, which was under consideration for disposal and redevelopment. The purpose of the proposed redevelopment was to regenerate the site with alternative use (in this case residential) and re-invest the money back into healthcare with Newham.
Lytle Associates Architects liaised with the Council’s Planning, Design, Highways and Housing Officers to submit a successful outline planning application for the master plan. Whilst creating 108 new dwellings the proposal
also sought to retain the original late Victorian hospital and Nurses House which were to be converted to 31 units.
