Apartments, Epsom
Located in the heart of Epsom, this urban site is nestled between large houses on generous plots and boasts views over Clayhill Green. The site borders the Stamford Green Conversation Area. Although the scheme wasn’t limited to following the local vernacular, in order to achieve planning, we needed to design a high quality scheme.
This is a three phase scheme. We delivered the first phase in 2019. The second phase involved adding a further 13 apartments. Once completed, there will be 37 flats with a mix of 1, 2 and 3 beds and nine 3-bed houses. Being adjacent to the park, it was a priority to create large openings for views across the open space and naturally lit interiors. A contemporary style with an organic ‘L’ shaped form stepping down from 3 storeys to a single storey and curved corners complement nearby existing eclectic styles and its rural setting.
