We were appointed by Elivia Homes to provide a design solution for a new residential development of 14 dwellings in Walton-on-the-Hill, consisting of four individually designed homes and a large apartment (mansion) block. The site is within a Residential Area of Special Character (RASC) so we took a sensitive, context-driven approach. We sited the mansion block centrally on the site as the focal point, with the other dwellings positioned carefully within the spacious grounds to give character to the scheme and protect and benefit from the existing mature trees. We designed the buildings in an Arts and Crafts style, with features such as buttresses, porthole windows and catslide roofs.
