Special Schools

Every school project that we work on is unique, and the design of special school presents new challenges and insights as we get to know the individual school and what makes the pupils tick.  When designing a special school our starting point will be to spend time in the school to really understand the particular needs of the pupils and how the architecture can make their school experience the best it can be.  The significance of layout, light direction, colour, signage, furniture layout and window position can have huge impact.

Creating calm, safe spaces, free from distractions and easy to navigate, can make the world of difference to a pupil’s school life.  These projects are some of our most challenging and rewarding.

Completed projects include:

-New Barn School
-NCYPE windmill
-Woodland Grange
