We were involved in the successful planning for the redevelopment of an extensive Green Belt psychiatric hospital site with Grade II listed core buildings dating back to 1853. The proposal generated 150 dwellings in the converted listed buildings and 400 new build dwellings around the site. This sensitive site required extensive consultation with Essex County Council, the County architect, English Nature and English Heritage, and the local planning authority required a scheme which complied in full with the requirements of the Essex Design Guide.
