WARLEY HOSPITAL

Successful planning for the redevelopment of an extensive Green Belt mental hospital site with Grade II listed core buildings dating back to 1853. The proposal generated 150 dwellings in the converted listed buildings and 400 new build dwellings around the site. Extensive consultation required on this sensitive site with Essex County Council, The County Architect, English Nature and English Heritage. The local planning authority required a scheme which complied in full with the requirements of the Essex Design Guide.
