Science and Technology

Lytle Associates have considerable experience in the design of new and refurbished science and technology spaces.  We are familiar with the regulations and design guidance, and have developed a detailed knowledge of specific requirements through working with science and technology teachers, technicians and specialist furniture manufacturers.

Our experience covers flexible science and technology spaces for KS2 pupils, senior school science laboratories, studios for graphics, textiles and resistant materials, vocational spaces for teaching car mechanics, hairdressing and horticulture through to university laboratories for specialised research and satellite engineering.

Completed projects include:
-Tolworth Girls’ School phase 1 science laboratories
-Guildford County School technology department
-University of Surrey, centre for satellite Engineering Research
-University of Surrey, physics and concrete testing laboratories
-Guildford High School for Girl’s Science block
-Reeds School physics block
-Rodborough school technology, food and hairdressing studios
-New Barn School vocational teaching block
