Beyond Zero Carbon

An early goal facing the design team on our new build contemporary house in Surrey was for the new dwelling to achieve a 40% increase in area, and to provide 80% of energy through renewables. Various approaches have been utilised to minimise the buildings environmental impact such as high quality, thermally efficient materials to create comfortable internal living environment, environmental control systems to maintain comfortable conditions during more extreme external temperature fluctuations and the integration of an array of renewable technologies to minimise the environmental cost of operating the building.

Energy Consultant Jason Doherty comments:

“Projects like this don’t come along that often, we had an air source heat pump, MVHR, lots of PV and a great SAP rating of 107!! Not just Zero Carbon, we are 30% beyond Zero Carbon. What a great team, contractor and of course Client!!”
