Classrooms, libraries, resource centres
High quality, spacious, bright and flexible teaching accommodation is at the heart of any educational building. Technology has had a big impact on teaching spaces in recent years, meaning interactive white boards, plasma screens and video conferencing facilities are as important as traditional desks and books. We understand the little things that turn good classrooms into great classrooms. Room shapes that ensure everyone has a good sightline, space for storage, lights switched in banks so that pupils can see film clips without complete blackout. When researching for a school masterplan we always ask students and teachers to tell us which is their favourite classroom, and why. Rooms with high ceilings, good natural light and views across the school grounds usually win. We try to make all the classrooms we design winning classrooms.
